Mokotua is situated on the Southern Scenic Route and lies 25 kms to the East of Invercargill.
Mokotua lies outside of the Catlins Area and was once a railway terminus but sadly it closed in 1966.
Remnants of the railway line relics can still be found in the area.
Mokotua has a great shop with really good takeaway food, open 7 days
and is also great if you need petrol or diesel, Sat and Sun excluded.
