Miss Forsyth’s Motel unit, named after a previous owner,
is located in the seaside village of Pounawea on the
Southern Scenic Route through the Catlins and within easy driving distance of all the main attractions of the Catlins area.
|
|
Miss Forsyth’s has its own private entrance and is set
in a lovely, garden setting.
Just 50 meters from the waters edge on the Pounawea estuary,
where you will find shell fish, flounder and sea trout.

Miss Forsyth’s is a fully self contained motel apartment attached to our home and has one bedroom with a double bed,
a living room with a couch, that can be turned into a second double bed if required and a kitchen with full cooking facilities.

All year round barbeque available on request and Internet access is also available if required.
|
|
Set in a lovely, quiet, peaceful environment.
Walk a few meters to the waterfront and enjoy the beautiful views across the estuary out to the ocean.
|
|
Pounawea is situated on the estuary at the junction of Catlins and Owaka rivers.
There is a forest reserve with lots of bird life and several bush walks close by.
Also a playground for children and a beach.
Take an approx. 5kms drive around the estuary to Surat Bay, where sea lions may be seen at close quarters
Visit Jack's Blowhole, 10 km from Pounawea or Nugget Point, where there is a hide from which to view
Yellow Eyed Penguines (HoiHoi), approx. 15 km's drive.
Owaka with all shopping, dining and other facilities is only 5 km away and Balclutha, the next main town is 35 km.
